10 for Tuesday... and then some

It is Tuesday.......right? I think so............

So it's my 10 for Tuesday.... I missed it last week...oops. I was sick though gimme a break!

1. Sydney was a month old yesterday. I'm in shock. I can't believe she's already a month old. Time is going waaaaay too fast. It isn't fair. I wish I could freeze Austin and Sydney both at the ages they are RIGHT NOW. I'm going to miss both these ages. A lot. I already miss them in fact. Bryant calls me crazy for missing something in the moment, but whatever!

2. Bryant turned 27 on the 28th of this month. He wanted a chocolate cake, so I found a recipe that looked yummy and made one. From scratch. I was pretty proud =) And it turned out wonderful. There's a picture at the bottom of this blog. He really liked it, so it was a plus one for Kami!

3. Sydney and I went to Boise yesterday to pick Sarah up from the airport. She's FINALLY home. Geesh, about time! She was ready to be home & came over for dinner last night. Jet lag finally hit her and she went home shortly after dinner to crash. Can't say that I blame her!

4. We leave on Thursday for Dad and Nancy's in Eugene, OR. We are sooooooo excited. Also a little nervous as well. It's about a 10 hour drive for us with Austin... so we're hoping it goes smoothly having Sydney now as well. I guess we will see! Uncle Paul and Aunt Connie live in Bend, which is about 6 1/2 hours from here.... they won't be home, but said that if we needed to we can stop off at their place for the night and travel the rest of the way in the morning. So it's good to know that we have that option if we need it. We're both a little nervous about this drive with both kids.... the FIRST car trip with them both!

5. It's been HOT here lately. And I mean H-O-T! So hot that even watering my flowers daily on the front porch, they are for the most part scorched. Awesome. Even in the shade. And they're suppose to be flowers that do well here... Riiiiiiiight. However, Austin's had a blast playing outside and even got daddy to roll around out there with him last night for awhile. They had fun. Sydney doesn't seem to mind it outside either. She just sleeps. Shocking, huh?

6. I have to find a bathing suit by the time we leave for Dad's on Thursday. Yikes. They have a hot tub now and I KNOW I'll want to jump in. And having a baby definitely changes your body... especially when it's only a month post baby... so I've got to find one stat! Payday is tomorrow.....whew! Pray for a cheap bathing suit find!!

7. After we get home from Oregon (we should be home by the 11th of July) we will celebrate our 6 year anniversary on July 12th. It's crazy to think that we've been married for 6 years. We dated for 3 1/2 years before we got married.... so we have been together almost 10 years. How nuts is that?!

8. We will be leaving the 17th for Twin Lakes with my mom, dad, brother and his girlfriend Jen. We CANNOT WAIT! This place is definitely my refuge and somewhere that my family has been going for years and years. Our family has a place up there now, so we can go vacation whenever! YES! Bryant didn't get to go last year, so he was determined to get up there this year for some good ol' fishing. Speaking of fishing, that was his birthday present from my parents and I--a new fishing rod. We split the cost of a really nice rod for him.... he loves it. =)

9. Austin is in love with "walking to the mailbox." Every day he says, "Should we go to the mailbox?" And won't relent until we walk down to the mailbox. It's too cute. Then when there is mail in the box, he asks what's for him.

10. I have my 6 week post baby check up in Boise on the 13th of July. I can't wait... because after that I will FINALLY get to start working out. Walking is fine, but I'm ready for a work out. I have too much of a sweet tooth to only be walking and lose my weight! haha!!! So I'm pretty excited. This c-section has been MUCH MUCH easier than the one I had with Austin, so for the past couple weeks, I've really been itching to get into shape again. Knowing this is our last baby, makes me not want to procrastinate getting my body back. I drug and drug on that subject after I had Austin because we knew we wanted another one. I didn't want to get a smokin' body just to ruin it again..... so come Monday the 13th, WATCH OUT! (Except for the week we will be at Twin Lakes....HAHAHA)

He's such a great big brother.... we're crazy proud =)
Is THIS how I'm suppose to sit in the car??

Our baby angel =)
This was Austin's picture.... great job buddy haha

What a concerned big brother!

Yesterday, I had Sydney in her bouncy chair hanging out. Well, sleeping rather. She woke up, and I wasn't RIGHT THERE to feed her, so of course, she got a little pissed. (She's hitting a growth spurt, so the ONLY thing she's doing is sleeping, and eating. That's it. Well, pooing too of course....

Anyways, Austin was with me, and noticed that she was upset, so being the good big brother he is, he had to make sure that she was ok. I just thought it was too cute... I caught the end of him checking on her. It's so sweet. =)

Today is Bryant's birthday as well. He's 27 today!!! Wowza!! So Happy Birthday to you babe! I'm off to make you your chocolate cake that you want (which I am OKAY with, considering I am highly addicted to chocolate at the moment...) so hope you like it! =)

Ugh!

I have successfully missed 10 for Tuesday AND Thankful Thursday. Oops.

However, I have good reason. I am STILL sick. Yes, still. It's getting very frustrating. I finally went into the UCC (Urgent Care Center) here on base today. I tried and tried last week to get an appointment, and they didn't have any all week. Being military, you call in the morning to try to get a "same day" appointment. All had been filled each time I called, so I was SOL. So today I started feeling crummy again, and reluctantly went in. When going into the UCC you just resign yourself that you will be there for a couple hours waiting. I was actually seen fairly quickly this time. Walked out with Antibiotics for a sinus infection and strep throat. Lovely. Guess that explains my razor blade throat, huh? I'm definitely glad I went in, because tonight my throat is killing me again. Quite bad.

So far, none of the family has caught the strep. I'm praying none of them do. Austin's still fighing his allergies, and takes Zyrtek (sp??) morning and night. It's helping a lot. Sydney is doing well. Growing, Growing, Growing!!! Sad, Sad, Sad!!! Or bittersweet really. She's already out of her preemie, and a few of her newborn outfits are tight. Some are still large, just in the way they're made I guess.

Bryant's birthday is tomorrow. (Sunday) He's going to be 27! He isn't affected by age though- he could really care less that he is nearing 30. I asked. He wants a chocolate cake. So I found one that I'll be making...from SCRATCH I might add! It will be a layer cake with the homemade frosting in the middle as well... YUMMO! I'll be getting up with the kids in the morning to let him sleep in on his birthday.... so I think that's my cue to go to bed. :)

Here's a video I took of Austin today. He's telling the colors of his trains. At the very end of the video he goes quiet and looks almost disgusted.... that's because he saw a cat hair on one of his trains. Of course, I turned the camera off right before he freaked out about it, so you don't get to see that part... but trust me, it was a kick in the pants! I took another one of him today as well of him telling all the names of each of his trains- but for some reason I couldn't get that one to upload today... I'll try again later!

It's just weird.

It's weird to think that if Sydney would not have come early like she did, that today would have been the day that I'd be having her. We'd actually have a few hours old little girl right now.... as the c-section would have been at 7:30 this morning. She would be 4 hours old. Instead, she's almost 4 weeks old. That's just really an odd feeling for me.
I, for one, am very happy that she came early. Granted, it wasn't under the best circumstances, it was insanely scary for us to have to go through, and a lot of worry about if she would be okay being born a month early (which we are thankful beyond belief at how perfect she is) but it all turned out okay. I was absolutely miserable, and had been for about a month when she came. There wasn't a day that I wasn't sidelined with contractions, I ended up with these things called "skin nerves" come through... which to put it mildly, felt like someone was sticking a hot poker through my skin. And while they started just hurting every now and then, by the time I had her, they hurt all day every day. I couldn't go for more then a couple hours without having to go home and rest for the rest of the day. And when I did go to Boise or something one day, I'd be layed up for a day or two being so tired and exhausted. My feet were the size of my house every day... and actually, one night I walked to a friends house for a Mom's Night, and when I went to walk back home, I couldn't even get my shoes back on my feet. Needless to say, I was miserable, and crazy uncomfortable and sooooo thankful she came when she did! I can't even imagine going for another month like that! So for that, Thanks little Miss!! :)
*****
Yesterday was Father's Day. (We hope that everyone had a great day!!!) I was still really sick. Bryant said he didn't mind, because it was a relaxing day. It isn't like we could have went and done anything anyways, as it was POURING rain all day long... but still I felt bad. By the time I got up and came downstairs, he already had the pot roast in the crock pot. That was suppose to be my job... he isn't suppose to be doing dinner on HIS day! Anyhow, we layed around all day, which was fine by me.... but it's just that it was Fathers Day and that bugged me. So I think that once I'm feeling better... (and after payday...haha) I'm going to do a re-do Father's Day for him. Not another present.... but make a good dinner for him, and bake a dessert that he will enjoy. Make it about him, instead of about my being sick. Sounds like a good plan to me. :)

Enough for today, I'm sure. Hope you all have a great week!

Sickly household :(

I'm sick. I feel crappy. And it's not fun! It started out a couple days ago with my left eye all red and blood shot. Usually when one of my eyes goes bloodshot, I know I'm about to get sick. Happens every time. Sure enough, by the next afternoon I was feeling pretty crummy. We had friends up for dinner that night, and by the time I went to bed I was really not feeling well.
Then, to top it off, every time I woke up to feed Sydney, I had a crusty left eye. (The one that origionally was blood shot)
By the time I woke up for the day yesterday, I knew I had pink eye. I called the doctor right away, and of course, they didn't have any available appointments, so I had to go into the Urgent Care Center. (Which means it's an ER) Sure enough, it's pink eye, so I got put on eye drops for 7 days. By last night, it was in the other eye. I woke up this morning doing ok.... for about an hour and then it all hit me again and I feel awful still. With two eyes that suck. I am thankful I know what pink eye feels and looks like, because I caught it REALLY early. It's definitely not near as bad as it could be, and has been before. I hope it gets better soon, because my knuckles are red and raw from using so much sanitizer and washing them non-stop. I do NOT want Austin, nor Sydney to end up with pink eye. Austin has had it before, and isn't really cooperative when I had to give him that eye-goop stuff.
And although Austin has yet to get pink eye this time, he did wake up this morning sick. Before bed last night, he complained of how cold he was. We gave him his allergy medicine, and I also decided to give him motrin before bed. What could it hurt right? I'm glad I did though- because when Bryant went in to get him up at his 3:15 pee-pee call, he said he was burning up. He's been super cuddly today, which I in turn don't mind, but it means he feels awful, so I feel awful for making him feel awful. He took a 3 hour nap today, which is UNHEARD of for him. We're usually lucky to get an hour out of him.... let alone THREE! However, it let me get Sydney taken care of, and we layed down for a nap as well.
During all of this, Bryant was gone all day. He was over in Boise doing his Field Day for his Hunters Safety Class. He's home now, thankfully, but left this morning at 6:30am and didn't get home until about 4:00 this evening. Made for a long day of me being sick, Austin being sick, and a newborn depending on me for everything. (Did I sign up for this??) WELCOME TO MOMMY-HOOD!!!

Which brings me to Sydney. Who just filled her diaper.... any takers? No? Okay, I'll enlist Bryant..... :)

She's doing great. She sleeps. All. The. Time. We've learned to wake her around 9pm, and keep her awake for an hour to hour and a half (sometimes she decides to stay awake a little longer on her own accord, which is just fine) and by the time we lay down for bed, she goes to sleep as well. She sleeps anywhere from 2 1/2 hours to 4 hours at a time at night. The 4 hours doesn't happen often, at all, but when it does, it's heaven.
She is DEFINITELY out of preemie clothes. She's wearing newborn right now, which most are still too big for her, but they fit her way better than the preemie size.

But I know, in the back of my mind, I'm going to blink one time just a little too long, and she's going to be as big as Austin. Where does the time go? I, for one, would love to find it tucked away somewhere and dig in and re-live everything that I cherish so much about Austin. I'll want to do it with Sydney in a few years as well, and it breaks my heart that I'll never get these years or this moment back. It's bitter-sweet really. I love to see them thriving, and growing, but it really just goes too quickly. But in knowing this, it makes me strive to be a better mom. It makes me want to love them stronger, laugh harder, smile longer, and hug them just a little tighter every day. I want to worry less, raise my voice less, be angry less. I know there's no such thing as a perfect mom, but it's always good to strive for something, right?

Sleeping Beauty... she is so peaceful
She was absolutely passed out!

Thankful Thursday

I picked this up from my friend Jess' blog. I'm not sure how to do her name in blue so you can click on it and see her blog.... maybe if she reads this she will tell me how :)

I do a "Ten for Tuesday" and saw Thankful Thursday and decided to pick it up as well. Even though I don't keep up on Ten for Tuesday too often.... you've got to cut me some slack... I just; I repeat JUST had a baby! :)

So a few things I am thankful for.

~Bryant made TSgt. I am soooooo proud of him. It took awhile, but he got there, and that's what matters!

~My children. They are really the light of my life. I feel so complete with them.... like our family is finished. That's a great feeling.

~Our parents. Bryant and I were talking about this the other day. Talking about how we really have the greatest parents. When I went into labor with Sydney and we found out that we were having her a month earlier than planned, we called our parents. His dad and my parents both drove down here at the drop of a hat. We are so blessed.

~The Air Force. I look at my life and where I am today, and I really have to realize that we wouldn't have half the things we do, or the security that we do if Bryant wasn't in the Air Force. We are provided for so well. We live in an absolutely beautiful house, have medical (albeit not the BEST medical, but it does it's job...) we have great cars that can get us all over to see our family or whatever else we decide to do, it provides a great life for us and our children. Yeah, he might have to deploy, or go on TDY's, and make us be away from our families, but in the end, it's pro's heavily outweigh the cons of military life.

That's all for now :)

Good-bye SSgt, Hello TSgt!!!

........well, in 7 to 8 months that is!

Bryant made Tech!!!

He won't be sewing on, and getting increased pay until February or March of 2010, but he made it!!!

We are so excited! Bryant can barely contain himself. He got a text from a friend at 7:06 who had checked the promotion list, and saw his name on there. That's how he found out that he made it. He isn't at work this week (taking leave because of having Sydney) so he wasn't there when the list came out. After that, he ended up getting up because he was too excited to keep sleeping any longer. Which, with having Sydney, and no sleep, you can just imagine how excited he had to have been in order to get out of bed!!! :)

Anyhow.....

A HUGE CONGRATS TO MY HUBBS!!!!! We love you & are SUPER proud of you!!! :)
