Ode to the weekend

I couldn't be more blessed to call this place home.  It is absolutely beautiful.  Sometimes I wish we never had to leave, that Bryant would come home, and we could just settle in and live here.  I love it.  It's like it has some sort of magnetic pull.... I swear, you should visit, and you won't want to leave.

This weekend was a busy one.  Well, not really, only one day of the weekend, but it kind of rolls over into the whole weekend.  Funny how that happens the older you get.

Friday I had my first water therapy for my back.  Went pretty well, and was incredibly sore by that evening, and into the next day.  Hopefully today they may take it a touch easier on me.... we shall see!

Saturday, my older cousin Lynn got married.  It was a beautiful ceremony up at Ohme Gardens.... that place is just beautiful in itself, but add a wedding to the mix.... money!

Lynn & Scott

They also had something called a Sand Ceremony.  Both of them have been previously married, and both have 1 girl, and 2 boys.  So they did a Sand Ceremony to "blend" their families.  I have never seen it done before, and was so unique, and very, very creative.
This is a picture of all the glass vials that all had sand in them.  Each person of the family poured in a little of their sand at a time until it was gone.  It was beautiful, and it will be a really neat piece in their home.

My mom and I decided to take the kids and walk down around in the gardens.  Austin wanted to go see all the ponds they have, and the fish that are in a couple of them.  We didn't take into consideration that we were in nice clothes, heels for myself, and it was HOT.  It was still pretty none the less, and I got a few pictures of the kiddos, so it was okay. =)

After we got done with our little trek, we loaded back into the car and headed up to the wedding reception.  It was fun, laid back, and SO nice to be around family that we normally don't get to see a whole lot.

We got home, and I had to get ready again to head out to one of my best friend Chelsea's birthday dinner.  We went to Tastebuds, and it was so much fun.  A huge group of us, live music, dinner and wine.  Couldn't have asked for a better night.  I could have dealt with maybe skipping the whole getting pulled over thing, but I'll let the cop off... he'd never met me before, so he didn't realize that I was perfect & never do anything wrong.  ;o) HA!  (It was for not having my headlights on anyways- nothing crazy, I promise.)

Did you know............?

I just wanted to post a few facts about Germany. There are a few fun ones, and very interesting... if you ask me anyway! =)

Did you know....

: Germany is only slightly smaller than the state of Montana?

:You would have to try one type of Germany bread each and every day for almost a year to be able to taste them all. There are over 300 types of German Bread!

:Dogs are treated like Kings in Germany. They are permitted into restaurants and stores. Even have their own pools.

:Germans are the second largest beer consumers in the world. (Aside from the Irish of course)

:Gummy bears were invented by a German.

:Germany has over 400 zoos. The most in the world.

:Holocaust Denial is a crime in Germany.

: Another crime in Germany, punishable by fine, is "flipping someone the bird."

:You have to bring your own shopping bag when going out to shop. If you don't, they will sometimes have them to purchase.

:Tax in Germany is 19%!!!!!!

: Unlike many think, we drive on the same side of the road where we're headed as we do in the states!

: Our gas will be rationed!

:American cordless phones are illegal in Germany. They interfere with the emergency lines.

:and while we're on that subject...... you dial 211 for emergency services instead of 911.

That's all for today! Hope you enjoyed your history lesson!

56 days and counting.....

Yes, 56 days until Bry will be back for a few days.  12 to be exact.  I can't wait to see the kids' face when they see daddy in person instead of on a computer screen!  It will be priceless.
The only issue we face right now is paying for his plane ticket!  From the time we decided that August would be the month, until last week the price of plane tickets for his time frame have jumped TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS!  Are you kidding me?! That is just insane.  I need to have a "Bring Bryant Home" fundraiser.... teehee! =)

Anyhow, this weekend was B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L!!!!  We had a yard sale on Saturday, and we did pretty well!  I got scorched!  It definitely was a little tender!
After the yard sale we ran around and got what we needed for Dad's birthday dinner.  I am not going to tell you how old he is, but if you read the big red letters above, he's 365 days younger than that.  Now, if you can figure that out for yourself it isn't my fault that you know how old he is.

Yesterday was Sunday and Mom filled the kiddie pool up in the morning.  Later that afternoon we took the kids out and they played around in it, and I pulled out the coolest sprinkler ever for them.  Austin LOVED it!

That was the extent of our weekend!  Not much else happening around here!  I have started writing Sydney's 2 year letter, but haven't finished yet.  It will be posted soon I'm sure.  I think I'm just in denial.  If I don't post her letter, then she isn't technically 2, right??

Update of past couple weeks!

Sydney had her birthday party on the 28th.  She was a HAM!  (As you can see from the picture above!) She loved it- and really got into ripping her presents apart.  I made her cake this year with the help of my brothers g/f Jen.  Here's a couple pictures of the day:
Austin wrapped EVERY present for his sissy.
The cake.  I couldn't quite match the green when I ran out- so I'm STILL bummed about that!  But I LOVE the cake!!
The birthday girl in her new chair!

Austin's last day of school was the 26th, so he's out for the summer.  He enjoyed the time he got to spend there, and cannot wait to go back in the fall.  He will be moving up from 3's & 4's to a Pre-K class this next year.  I had the option to put him in Kindergarten but I just do not think he is ready for that yet.  So we will hold him back 1 year, and he will start Kindergarten when he is 6.

Austin also went fishing with his Unc (my brother Nic) and caught fish!!  He didn't quit talking about his trip all night long- he was SO thrilled!!

Dad, Nancy, Jeremy and Jenn made the trip to East Wenatchee the day after Sydney's birthday party (On Sydney's birthday) and we met at Abby's Pizza for a few hours.  The kids LOVED getting to see them, and I did too.  Austin has been asking constantly to go to Gramps and Grammies house, and I feel so bad saying that we can't.  Hopefully my back will heal up quick like and I can be able to drive there to stay! We miss them a ton.

Anyhow, things are going pretty well here.  Bryant is getting along good, and we are counting down the days until his mid-tour.  More on that later.  (See I'm setting myself up so I have another blog coming....)
Oh, and in case you're wondering, 57 days until we get to see Bry!!!! *Happy Dance*

Just a hello from Washington

Hope this finds you all well!  We are all starting to finally feel better here.  Sydney is finished with her antibiotics, but I am wondering if I am going to have to take her back in before her 3 week re-check.  She is acting much, much better, but is still poking and rubbing at her ears, so I am not convinced that her infection is gone.

I am moving a lot better.  Still have been in pain- but I am able to be up out of bed most of the day.  I am hurting pretty good by the time evening rolls around, but I am sure that will go away soon.  And I CANNOT WAIT FOR THAT!

Sydney's birthday is SOON.  And I'm SAD!  I, honestly, am in denial.  Want to know how I know this?  Her birthday party is on the 28th of this month.  I have told not even a handful of people this.  I haven't ordered any decoration for her party, nor have I sent out any invites.  I just now, just today, went and got her birthday gifts.  Maybe if I don't give her gifts, and don't have a party, she won't turn two.  Has that worked for anyone??

Anyone?

Tap Tap.  This thing on?

So onto other news.  Fun news!!  I signed up and joined the Scentsy team!!!

I am an Independent Scentsy Consultant, and I am SO excited.  I wish, wish, that when I joined Mary Kay, that I would have known about Scentsy.  A company that is so much more my style, laid back, easy going, simple to navigate, great prices, and best of all? It sells its self!  It cannot get much better than that.  I have been a consultant for one full day, and already have TWO orders.... Amazing in my book!  Want something?  I'd be happy to help you!  Don't know what Scentsy is?  Let me know and we can chat about it!!  https://kamihines.scentsy.us

I'm slowly purchasing things for our next house.  Bryant and I have lived in 5 different places since we have been married, and have not decorated a single one of them.  Sure a couple have had three or four family pictures hung up, but we have not truly decorated.  I told him come hell or high waters, we ARE decorating our next home.  I am very excited to get to Germany and finally put everything up, and see it all come together!

I promise to get some pictures this week and weekend of the kids so I can post some new ones!

Stay tuned!

6 months down, sick kids, and almost a birthday

So, I just realized this past week that we are 6 months down in this remote tour!  I cannot believe that Bryant has been gone for that long.  In some ways, it feels like he just left- but in others, it seems like we haven't been a family in YEARS.  We only have 6 months left- and we will be done with this dreadful year and move on.  We can't wait for the next adventure, and can't wait to settle into a new home.  Together. Happy. A family. *sigh*

The past two weeks- I almost don't want to get into it.  I will give you a short version, because I know I tend to be a bit long winded.
5/01 I hurt my back badly.  I ended up in the ER that evening getting a pain shot, MRI followed the next day, and am now on day 13 of bed rest.  Have been out of the house not even a handful of times and in quite a bit of pain.  Neuro surgeon says no surgery- would make me worse.  I start water therapy in a couple weeks.
Next, a few days after I hurt my back, Sydney started getting sick.  Ended up with a double ear infection and ruptured right ear drum. Miserable she was.  10 days of Antibiotics, which run out tomorrow, but she still should have until Monday.  Calling the doc tomorrow as I didn't realize she was so low.
Then, yesterday Austin started getting sick.  Feels pretty crummy.   He's snotty (But what's new huh? Ha), feverish, sore throat, tired, overall puny.

So that has been our life for the past two weeks.  Has not been fun.  At all.  One day things will calm down and I will be able to breath again.

On another note - a very very bittersweet one - Sydney will be two shortly.  On the 29th actually.  I cannot even believe it's been 2 years.  I love watching her grow, the spitfire that she is, but I really truly miss her baby-ness.  I want it back.  I wish I could have paused time.

Anyways, I don't think I really have any other news- hopefully we will be up and running again soon and will have more exciting things to post!!  (Although, 6 more months is quite exciting if you ask me!)
