4 months down.

I thought I'd be nice, and lead with a teaser.  Of our lovely, annoying, cute, hyper, frustratingly loving pupper, Petey.  He knows he's cute, and he knows he rules the roost.  Most days.

We're 4 months into this ridiculous remote tour.  I've already went to see him for a week, and It.Was.Awesome.  We both had a blast, and it was beautifully weird being there without any children.  I asked if we could have babies some day, but he said no.  Something about already having two at home.
Men.
I don't get them sometimes.

It already feels like eons ago that I went to Greenland- and I'm ready for his mid-tour already.  Hopefully he will be coming home in June, he's really really missing the dog.

Er, I mean the kids.

He's excited to do fun things with them like this. ^

Hopefully we'll be able to afford another trip for me to go to Greenland in September, so we'll wait and see how that pans out.  Only 8 more months left- I think I can. I think I can.

I have these little things running around here calling me Mama that keep me insane grounded.

I'm pretty partial to them.  Bryant is too.  I think we'll keep them.

Austin told me he loved me the other day. It went like this...

"Mom?"

"Yeah bud..."

"I love you Mom."

"I love you too bud, and I'm glad you love me, because I was about to trade you in."

*silence*

*chirp chirp....*

"No you wouldn't MOM!"

It's all about Love, baby!

Hope all you lovebirds have a fantastic day.  Tell each other how much you love one another, hold a gaze a little longer, hug a little tigher.

Better yet, do it everyday =)

Sicky Sicky

Well, the entire house now has a cold.  YUCK!  Austin had it, then Sydney got it, and this morning, Mom, Dad and I all three woke up with it.  Sydney still is in full swing with it, and Austin has not gotten better yet either.  So hopefully we all get over it around the same time, and that way won't keep passing it around.  I'll be airing the house out in a few days, and sanitizing everything once everyone looks like they're getting over it.  Don't want to stay sick the rest of the winter!

I did so crummy on my eating today.  I've been really trying to stick within my calorie range, and I have been doing well, and losing weight.  But this week has been a slow downward spiral.  First with Mom and my night, ended up being a night in because Sydney was sick.  So we got J's Teriyaki for "our" meal.  (We were going to go to dinner and a movie while my brother and Jen had the kids- but they only got to take Austin.  Then, Sunday was Superbowl, and you all know how much you eat during that!  Then a military friend came into town, so went to Thai food for dinner, and then we grilled hamburgers the next day before they headed on to Alaska.  So it's been a calorie overloaded week.  Last night we were all getting sick and didn't feel like cooking, so for some reason Pizza Hut ended up knocking on our door.  (haha) So today, was leftover pizza for lunch, and also had chocolate tonight after my soup. WHAT.EVER!  Tomorrow is a new day =)

My passport is suppose to be here "on or around" February 16th.  So as soon as we get the number off the passport, Bryant will start my country clearance and I can buy my ticket to see him.  I am SO excited!  27 days! But who's counting?! tsk, tsk.

Oh yes, and before I forget.... look what Bryant found:
Bear Tracks!!  These were from a Polar Bear.  Said polar bear actually got him a half day off work!  I guess they really freak out when one wanders on base, so they basically shut it down until it goes away.  Eeps!  He hasn't seen one yet, but there's proof they're there!

February

I am a little more than surprised to see that it's February.  And the 10th at that!  Time since New Years has just flown by.  We are slowly getting into our groove here.  Austin goes to school 2 days a week, and I help in the classroom some days.

The kids are growing like weeds, and really loving each other.  They are so cute together- and for the most part, play pretty well together.  Sydney has an attitude, a big one, so she gets a little mad at her brother for playing with her toys.  Or taking something from her, or talking, or looking at her. hahahaahha!  No, they do well together- and really enjoy each other.  You can really see the love between them and it just warms my heart!!!

As of right now, it looks like I will be going to see Bryant in Greenland March 9th.  I can't wait- and am SO excited for the trip.  The kiddos are going to stay with Mike and Nancy (Bryant's dad and step mom) in Oregon since they get to see the kids the least.  I am excited to go down a few days before I leave and spend some time with them, and will also stay a few days after my trip to hang out with them.  I think they will have a blast with the kids as well.
I am going to be going over with a couple other wives whos husbands are over in Greenland with Bryant.  One of the wives will also be stationed in Germany with us- so it will be really neat to meet her and her husband.

So we are all doing well- yes including Bryant.  He's truckin along over there on the ice freezing his butt off. =)  He's gotten a half day off last week for there being a polar bear on base- so that's a new one!

Until next time!

Holy Blog Break!!!!!

Well HELLO!  Do you remember me?  I won't hold it against you if you don't.

Not much has changed since my last post.  I LIE!

EVERYthing has changed since my last post.  We finally left Mountain Home.  We are now living in Washington.  Bryant left for Greenland just over a month ago.  Austin started school.  And things are moving right along!

It's been hard without Bry/Daddy, but we are managing.  The kids really miss their daddy- but Skype has been our saving grace.  We try to Skype with him at least once a week- and the kids go absolutely ballistic when they see him.

Bryant got to have Thanksgiving here- we were at his brother's house with family.  He had to leave before Christmas- so that was especially hard.  But once again, good ol' Skype pulled through and he was able to watch the kids on Christmas Morning open their gifts.

All in all, I cannot complain.  I live in the downstairs of my parents house, so we have our own space.  I have the support of the family around to help with the kids, my friends here to keep me sane while going through this, and we are even back with my old family doctor who is amazing.

Bryant is doing well in Greenland- he has met a lot of people, and is starting (I think) to get a little core group that he hangs out with on the weekends.  He is looking into things so that I can come see him in April- so neither of us can wait for that!

Just short and sweet today... and of course blogger is not letting me upload pictures right now- so you will have to wait until next time!

Yet another update.....

I am like the worst blogger in history, I swear.  I always think about blogging something, and I never do.  Even though I know that a lot of the family enjoys reading them, or so they say.  I just don't take the time to sit down and write one.

Shame on me.

I could give you an excuse, like that my computer is acting up, and 99% of the time won't even let me get on the internet- which is completely true. But when it does end up letting me on the internet, all I do is check my e mail, my facebook, and then close out.  I'm awful, I know I know.

So around here lately things have been going like normal.  Well, as normal as normal can be these days.  The kids are great- growing like weeds.  Just got over their first colds of the season.  Bryant and I managed to escape it- thankfully.  I don't think I've used that much hand sanitizer since Sydney was born.
My mom will be here on the 4th of November to help us get packed up and the house cleaned.  We have to be out of the house around the 12th of November.  Our inspection of the house is schedualed for the 15th, and we leave base the 18th.  It's all coming so fast now.  Looks like I will have to leave base a few days earlier than Bryant- since we will have the moving truck all loaded up.  We can only afford to rent it for so many days, so my mom, myself and the kids will drive to Washington 2-3 days earlier than Bryant so we can get the truck returned as soon as possible.  He will follow on the 18th.  He should be able to leave around 10am on the 18th to head to Washington.

The remodel on my parents downstairs has turned into a LOT more than just a few walls of sheet rock.  Another estimate came in, and they found out that their basement was not up to code.  So that had to be done.  They then decided that as long as they were doing all that, they might as well put the bathroom in downstairs.  Which resulted in a new floor, sheetrock, shower, toilet and vanity.  Then while all this was going on, they found out they had to replace the carpet in the downstairs as well.  So that was put on the list.  Then, they figured, as long as all this was going on, maybe they'd add some stuff to upstairs as well.  So we may just possibly get to my parents house, and not recognize it.  At all.  I'm pretty excited to see it, personally!

This weekend has been a pretty good one.  Today's Columbus Day, so Bry has the day off.  He's sleeping.  His wife is pretty nice to let him sleep in TWICE this weekend.  Geesh. ;o)  I threw my back out Thursday, not terribly bad, but bad enough that I was in pain.  So Saturday we just hung around the house because it was still trying to heal.  Bry went on a jog with Petey while Austin rode his bike along side, and Sydney and I just hung at the house.  Yesterday my back was feeling quite good, so we decided to go to Boise.  Sydney has been pulling her earrings out, so we needed to get her some screw back earrings so she couldn't pull them off.  The only places that had those types of earrings were actual Jewlery stores, which wanted over $100.00 PER SET of earrings.  Um, no thanks.  I mean- kudos to those who can buy them, that's awesome- but we're a family of 4 with one income.... not even! So we decided we'd order online.  But while we were there, we decided that Bryant needed some new shoes.  So we ended up getting him some new shoes.  I got my facewash from Macy's, we had lunch at McDonalds, (I bet you'd never guess who chose McDonalds for lunch?!?! ha!) and Mommy accidentaly threw away Austin's new Cars toy, so we went to Target to get him a new one.  Bad Mommy.  He was pretty upset about losing that one, it was afterall, brand new.

So enough rambling from me- hopefully I can get a few pictures of the kids loaded here soon!

xoxo

p.s. I can't even get my spell check to work right now- so please kindly overlook my awful spelling! =)
